OUR BELOVED GURU

Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati was a profound thinker, philosopher, spiritual teacher and one of the greatest masters of Vedanta. He was born on August 15, 1930, in Manjakkudi, a small village on the banks of River Kaveri in Tiruvarur district, Tamil Nadu.

Though deeply rooted in the richness of Indian tradition, Pujya Swamiji was contemporary in his thinking and approach to the issues of the day. His impeccable logic, brilliant analysis, erudition, precise use of language, and humour made him a renowned and sought after teacher of Advaita Vedanta.

Pujya Swamiji’s benevolence and empathy extended to all civilisations, and all cultural forms that helped bring positive change in the lives of thousands of people. He strove to preserve, nurture and appreciate the diversity of human culture. His influence in India and around the world was enormous.

He was the founder of AIM for Seva, Swami Dayananda Educational Trust, Arsha Vidya Research & Publication Trust and Arsha Vidya Gurukulams in India and USA. His vision continues to be upheld and propagated through these organisations.

Pujya Swamiji firmly believed that the youth of our nation should receive value education and cultural validation. He advocated that education complemented with cultural outlook would bring in self esteem and confidence in an individual. Only someone who is taught to respect the richness of his or her roots could grow to become a self confident individual. It is self confidence and self esteem that impel a person to contribute towards and participate in the prosperity of his or her nation.

Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati was posthumously awarded the Padma Bhushan, one of the highest civilian awards given by the Indian Government

AIM for SEVA

The All India Movement for Seva (AIM for Seva) is a pan-Indian, non-profit registered charitable trust, founded by Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati in 2000. Our founder understood that the challenges of accessibility and affordability were limiting children in rural India from going to school – which he uncovered during a conversation with a tribal woman.

Thus, AIM for Seva’s journey began with the goal of enabling children from impoverished rural and tribal areas to have the same advantages as children of means and, therefore, every opportunity to develop their full potential – and of the nation. The first Chatralayam (free student hostel) was set up in 2001. Today, AIM for Seva is spread across 15 states and 133 projects that include Chatralayams, schools, a college, vocational training centres, residential facility for differently abled adults, healthcare facilities, community development initiatives and sustainable living projects. The members of the teaching staff are well qualified and trained according to the norms of the Board of Education of Madhya Pradesh. Ably guided by the Principal, Ms. Debjani Dutt, they encourage the child to question, explore and learn. At the Swami Dayananda Saraswati Vidyalaya, we regard schooling as a means to enable the acquisition of knowledge, development of skills and the search for understanding.

The Swami Dayananda Saraswati Vidyalaya established on 18th February 2019 started its first academic year on 24th June 2019. A co-educational institution, the Swami Dayananda Saraswati Vidyalaya is modelled as a K-12 school. It will be expanded in stages, with the primary school getting functional in 2019-2020.

To inspire and challenge young minds to develop into caring and committed individuals who strive for excellence in all they do, and pursue lifelong learning.

To stimulate inquiring minds and spark enthusiasm for discovery and exploration.

To focus on all aspects of student development : Academic, Intellectual, Creative, Social, Physical, Ethical and Emotional.

  • To provide a curriculum that integrates the philosophy of Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati and the pedagogy of integrated, value-based education.
  • To flourish as a model of academic excellence.
  • To provide education that is experiential and transformational in character, rather than imparting knowledge and skills alone.
  • To encourage unity of thought, word and deed.
  • To develop an active social conscience in students and the inclination to render selfless service to others.
  • To select competent teachers who strive to be exemplars of human values.

Each person has five obligations enjoined on him or her as a member of humanity. Such practices help you grow into a mature, caring, responsible person.  The five obligations are

  • Respect for God
  • Respect for parents and elders
  • Respect for teachers
  • Respect for people
  • Respect for nature and all living beings

We believe that self-confidence is developed in a child when he/she understands and appreciates his/her tradition and culture. It is, therefore, our commitment to bring about this transformation by providing a caring and supportive environment. We follow a process of guidance and learning to help the child to grow and transform from being a consumer into a contributor.

OUR FACILITIES

The school campus offers a learning-friendly environment with a blend of functionality and contemporary aesthetics.Use of CCTV surveillance system, wide corridors and stairwells, fire prevention system, and deployment of security personnel are among the several safety and security measures taken by the School to ensure a safe campus environment.

Located in Padali village, Khargone District, Madhya Pradesh, Swami Dayananda Saraswati Vidyalaya has made a big difference in the region.

By providing access to good education and other facilities, the school management hopes the students will become leaders of tomorrow and contribute to their communities and country.

DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE

Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati ji used to say that VidyāDānam, the gift of knowledge, is the greatest of all dānam, because it helps to convert a person from the level of a consumer to that of a contributor. AIM for Seva was established with the aim of helping children from rural and tribal parts of our country, especially those who cannot afford schooling, to gain access to proper education with Indian samaskaras (values).

After Pujya Swamiji attained mahasamadhi, I took a sankalpa to fulfil my Guru’s vision in the best way I could. With his grace and blessings, through AIM for Seva, we were able to establish Swami Dayananda Saraswati Vidyalaya in Padali village, Khargone district.

PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

The best part about the future is that we can shape it today. Apart from nourishing children, and training them with specific skills, we can shape their personality through inculcating moral guidelines. This will ensure not only the welfare of the human community but also of all the living creatures in our environment. This, I believe, is the true aim of education.

We sow a seed today and it blooms into a huge tree giving fruits, oxygen and shade. We, at Swami Dayananda Saraswati Vidyalaya, sow the seeds of positive habits, constructive thoughts and compassionate actions in the minds of children of today so that they may bloom into admirable contributors in all spheres of life.

This is certainly the teamwork of gurus, teachers, trainers and parents. We all shall together strive genuinely to realise this dream.

Debjani Dutt
